Royal Marines 350 Anniversary Events in Gibraltar

INTRODUCTION

28th October 2014 will see the 350th anniversary of the formation of the Royal Marines in 1664 and in celebration of the Corps long standing association with Gibraltar the Royal Marines will hold a weekend of celebrations on 25th and 26th October.

The Royal Marines proudly only display one battle honour – and you only have to ask any Royal Marine who will proudly state that the name of that battle is “Gibraltar”.

The weekend of celebrations on the Rock is in support of the Royal Marines Charitable Trust Fund (RMCTF) – with everyone being asked to generously support this via the events on offer.  The “Man of Steel”, alias Superman actor Henry Cavill, will also be involved throughout as an Ambassador of the Royal Marines through his brother Nik who is a serving member of the Corps.
