INTERNATIONAL DANCE WORKSHOPS IN JUNE

Transitions Dance Academy is delighted to have secured Hope Maimane from South Africa who will be coming to Gibraltar in June for dance workshops. The event is organised with the support of the Gibraltar National Dance Organisation and the workshops will take place on Saturday 20th and  Sunday 21st June 2015 at the Catholic Community Centre. 

Hope Maimane is a Dancer, Actor and Choreographer from South Africa. Trained at Waterfront Theatre School in Cape Town, Hope is trained in Hip Hop, Modern/Contemporary, Jazz, Tap & Stomp Dance. He focuses on being a versatile dancer and all his classes are about diversity. Hope has worked with dancers and choreographers like Chuck Maldonado (Choreographer of Step Up 4) and Mitja Popovski (Best Choreographer in the history of the IDO from Slovenia). His favourite moment however has been sharing a stage with tWitch Boss and Allison Holker from So You Think You Can Dance. Hope has danced in many Musicals like Hairspray, Footloose, Joseph & the Technicolour Dreamcoat and Guys n Dolls. He is also part of the Cirque Du Soleil dancers database. Hope is currently on a World Tour with the show Singin’ In The Rain, where he will travel to New Zealand, Singapore, Philippines, Hong Kong & Johannesburg. He is very excited to be adding Gibraltar to his travels and is looking forward to dancing with everyone here. 

Hope will be running a series of dance workshops in Modern, Contemporary, Hip Hop and Musical Theatre. The workshops are open to dancers of all abilities aged seven onwards. The 90 minute workshops participation fee is as follows:

  £10 for 1 workshop    £20 for 2 workshops

  £25 for 3 workshops   £30 for 4 workshops

After 4 workshops have been chosen any extra workshops will be at £5 each

Workshops are restricted to 35-40 dancers per class so register early to avoid disappointment.
