Gibraltar Sea Scouts Centenary Celebrations

As part of their centenary celebrations the Gibraltar Sea Scouts will be presented with their new colour at a ceremony to be held at the Piazza on Saturday 13th September 2014 at 1100 hrs.

His Excellency the Governor, Lt Gen Sir James Benjamin Dutton KCB CBE and the Chief Minister, The Hon. Fabian Picardo will be attending the ceremony.

Following the presentation and the blessing by Mgr Paul Bear, the Group has requested that all past members of the 5th Gibraltar Sea Scouts join them in a parade down Main Street up to Casemates. The Pipes and Drums of the Sea Scouts will be leading the parade.

After the parade and in recognition of their valuable service to the Group, the Sea Scouts have invited all past members to join their Leaders and many local dignitaries at a reception at Grand Battery.

To commemorate the occasion the Group has designed a special Centenary tie which is now available for purchase.

During the past month over two hundred invitations have been sent out, some by post, others by email and quite a few through Facebook. It has been a very difficult task and no doubt some past members may not have received the invitation letters.

If you were a member of the 5th Group Gibraltar Sea Scouts and you have not yet received an invitation please contact any of the Leaders or email the Group at gibseascouts@gmail.com
