Christmas Lights Festival 2016

The Gibraltar Cultural Services, on behalf of the Ministry of Culture and in conjunction with

the Gibraltar Electricity Authority, will organise the Christmas Festival of Lights on Friday

18th November 2016 from 6pm at John Mackintosh Square.

5.30pm to 7.30pm: Art and Crafts Market
, Mulled wine, port and mince pies

6pm
: Performances by the Sea Scouts Pipe & Drum Band, St Anne’s Middle School Choir and Urban Dance

7pm Video Presentation and Switch-on Christmas Lights ceremony

7.13pm: Father Christmas special appearance

7.15pm: Gibraltar Youth Choir

The traditional Christmas lights switching-on ceremony, together with a song and dance

variety show, is a popular community event that marks the start of the holiday season.

Children will also be able to enjoy a special appearance by ‘Father Christmas’ and his ‘Elves’.

Following the switching-on ceremony, the Christmas lights will turn on automatically every

day until the 6th January 2017.


A full programme of events will be released in due course.

A great fun-filled family event organised by the Gibraltar Cultural Services and the Gibraltar Electricity Authority.
