Accessibility in and around Gibraltar
As Gibraltar offers such a wide variety of attractions and venues to visit, it remains part of our goal to deliver these experiences to all visitors to Gibraltar. As a result, we have made a conscious effort to deliver these wonderful experiences to everyone, including disabled travellers and those with accessibility needs.
Whilst we are taking all possible steps to meet the special requirements of all of our visitors, some of Gibraltarís major attractions face particular difficulties in providing access for those who are in wheelchairs. However, to compensate in some small measure for any discrepancies which we may have in aiding you to see our attractions, the Upper Rock and Beaches Department has arranged for free access to disabled persons into the Upper Rock, in order to allow you to enjoy your experience in Gibraltar at its fullest and at the best cost to you.

ACCESS TO BEACHES
The Upper Rock and Beaches Department, being the principal service provider for beaches in Gibraltar has been given the task and responsibility to provide special access to our beaches and existing beach facilities.
Access ramps were purposely built when major works were carried out at Eastern Beach changing room facilities a few years back.
New improved facilities have been redesigned according to a review of the current existing facilities.
New access ramps have been put in place from the main road leading on to the beach; there are existing parking spaces adjacent to this access point.
The Gibraltar Tourist Board has also taken on board the Accessibility Service units which are located at Eastern Beach, Catalan Bay, Camp Bay and Western Beach.
We hope that the friendliness, helpfulness and attention of local people can go some way towards compensating for any deficiencies in the physical provisions in buildings and amenities some of which are difficult to satisfactorily adapt.
